FIGHT NIGHT Round 4 Post Launch Update

I just wanted to give the FIGHT NIGHT Round 4 community a quick update of what the Dev Team has been working on since Fight Night was launched.

First, let me say we’re incredibly happy with the final product.  Critics and boxing fans agree that FIGHT NIGHT Round 4 has revolutionized the fighting genre through the use of our physics based game play engine and enhanced visuals.

One of our goals, when we began working on FIGHT NIGHT Round 4 ,was to create an new and innovative game play system that would improve and surpass the game play and visuals of Fight Night Round 3. It wasn’t easy…but we think we’ve achieved our goal.

That said, our work doesn’t stop with the shipping of FIGHT NIGHT Round 4.

While we can’t provide exact dates and content specifics just yet, we can say there are solid plans moving forward.  With the feedback and wish lists provided from the community our users can expect exciting content in the future.

Bottom line…we love the sport of boxing and want to continue to expand on the innovation in FIGHT NIGHT Round 4 and we’ll continue to do so with input of our community.

Firstly, Thankyou guys for doing sure a great job on Fight Night Round 4. A cracking game and one that does justice to the sport. A couple of issues though, Great to hear the 'freeze issue' will be addressed but after retiring my boxer at 30 with a record of 42(38)-1-1 i have not encountered a rivalry or been able to drop a weight class. My question is what changes in weightclass are availible and how does a rivalry start? I have done this on Champion difficulty but am about to start a new career on GOAT so how will i ensure seeing a rivalry develop and do i have to be a light heavyweight to fight at a different weight. Great game tho guys, really should be proud. Many Thanks

B Hop prolly will be around soon. I mean he was in the last one, cover boy for the round 2. Maybe he is pulling an Adamek n trying to keep himself out the game and have us pay for him as a DLC with Oscara DLH (yeap I said oscara) so they can get sum extra pocket change for their grand kids kids kids.

Please take a look into the Magnetic/Glued feet flitched, I know this feature was intentionally put in but it's flawed as outside boxer don't stand a chance as they can't get out once they unlesh the combos!

to state the obvious the foot speed(ali sohuld glide around the ring not tip toe...) and hte stanima issues, that is the most important and would make it far more realistic

I totally quote Nogert: please, resolve the Magnetic/Glued feet glitch. I don't undestand if it depends from a netcode problem or if my connection is too slow but this is a real problem, it can be very frustrating....(sorry for my poor english, i'm italian...;-) For the rest, the game is pretty awesome. Thanks for your work.

please adda option when u are knocked down, that u can manuly try to get back up or let the computer do it for you. Because there is alot of us who cant get back up on the second knock down. wile other players can get up 4,5, even 6 times after they were knocked down.      maby if u let thecomputer get u up u could use 1 in 3 chance of it working or more.

Will this Update include letting Users Edit Existing Boxer Attributes and Swapping Body Builds with existing Body Builds for Offline Only. I take my Cab making seriously and this would enable me to Edit some of the Existing Boxer Attributes I disagree with. This will make my Cabs much more balanced with Existing Boxers. Im with alot of the Community that would like to see this implemented for Offline Only. I would like to take Frazier Chin rating down a little and add speed to Tyson's Fist and Speed to Ali's Feet. Also I would like to Give Morrison better punch Ratings and the Mike Tyson build.

Please do not let this fall on deaf ears, Im willing to pay for it. Thanks and I hope this happens.

My Legacy Mode keeps freezing when I attempt to change weight classes and also when I simulate through my rest period. Can someone spell out for me what to do? Do I need to take my particular game back or could it be something different?

it's a good game, but i think it's only fun to play the 'fight now' mode and maybe online, haven't done that yet.

but the legacy mode doesn't really feel finished to me...you should really make it more of an STORY mode with more options maybe..but other then that great game !

I fought at welterweight in the amatuers in the 90's and think this game is very good. However a few things I'd like to see a patch for, or in the next game in the series, especially for online play are:

A. After a fighter flurries with 10 or 20 punches in a row their stamina should go down slightly further, but more importantly, it should take a little longer for their stamina to remplenish. If I flurry like that in a real match I have to step back and get a good breather. Also I would like to see more of an apparent affect of the stamina, such as the boxer looking gassed and maybe his defense comes down a tad.

B. Normal power punches (anything that isn't a jab) should take slightly more health away. Especially for the online kids that come in doing non-stop body punches If someone just goes to your body in a real match and leave themselves wide open, throwing an uppercut in between their body spamming, then a nice left hook should really take massive amounts of your opponents health, I mean if you are playing with a hard puncher. I would like to see the normal uppercut pop my opponents head up in the air a little more. I love that body punching is a huge element in this game, however when you body punch you still have to protect your head. That's the beauty of boxing, there is reward and danger at all times and in every aspect. I could do with the haymakers being banished from the game alltogether. No real pro on a championship level really throws haymakers. Oh, and thank you for getting rid of those horrible parries! They made it feel more like martial arts, very few boxers actually parry.

C. A little more foot speed would be nice. Maybe a way to really back away quickly. Side to side quicknes is probably the biggest problem I have, a quicker, wider side-step. Please don't kill me here, but that average game, Don King's Prizefighter had a decent system of stepping to the side (although the rest of the footwork in that game was  pretty frustratng).

D. When you choose your created fighters "best punch", maybe it should be a little more apparent that is his best punch.Like when I make a Wladamir Klitschko, and his best punch is a straight right hand but I can't really tell it's any more powerful than any of his other punches. And I would love, in a future version of this game, be able to INDIVIDUALLY (yep caps, I'm serious lol) each punch in your created fighter's arsenal. So if I want to make a fighter that has a terrible left hook, but a crazy powerful right hand then I could do that. Also, when I make myself some created fighters to put in as opponents in the Legacy mode, I would like to adjust their style of fighting, more in depth. Such as how frequently they use their jab, straight, go to the body, uppers and crosses, and if they are pressure fighters, counter punchers, whether they throw a lot of feints (whatever happened to feints in this game), if they use a lot of head movement, how they react if they are hurt (such as backing away to regain stamina, or simply getting pissed off and firing hard punches back).

Actually these are just nitpcks, and maybe something to think about later, especially the stamina system (unless stamina sliders are going to be in the slider settings you guys are releasing)

I have a big problem with career mode, I love the fact that you can add your Created Fighters into career mode, but what bugs me is that unless you put them all in the lower rankings you will not be able to fight allot of them before the game retires them. This is very annoying when you get to the title to fight your custom made guy and then he loses and retires before you fight him.  I fought 2 fights with a character that went the distance that became classics, I won the first, lost the second and then when I wanted to fight the rubber match the other character retired. I think there should be a fix that will allow you to decide when or if your added created characters retire.

Another unrealistic aspect of the game is the records of fighters! The current champion or top contenders will have something like 20 wins and 9 losses, with 5 loss's by knockout, when is the last time you remember a champion or top contender having such horrible records.

A fix for both those things would be great, Other than that this is a hell of a game in every other aspect the game plan is incredible, the mini games are challenging and fun although some of the stats don’t really fit the method of training but still great job.

Oh yea, and like other people said bring back the old hair styles and add more, balding, receding, mo hawk, mop top ext ext and add the colour grey, or at least salt and pepper

Button mashing sucks, Its a shame EA gave into pressure from you button mashing monkeys, it was nice to have a game that actually required a little timing and skill. Oh well still an awesome game just ruins the on-line experience.
