Holyfield, Liston, Hopkins and Two New Game Modes Headline Pack

EA SPORTS announced today that it will be releasing a new Downloadable Content (DLC) pack for Fight Night Round 4 in early December for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation®3. The DLC pack retails for 800 MS Points and $9.99 on Xbox LIVETM Marketplace and the PlayStation®Network, respectively. Named the Game Critic Awards "Best Sports Game of E3 2009", Fight Night Round 4 has been winning over reviewers since its release on June 23rd with its realistic graphics and genre defining physics-based boxing engine.

In addition to including Bernard Hopkins, Sonny Liston and Evander Holyfield as playable boxers, the DLC pack will also include two all-new game modes. The first, Old School Rules brings a new take to the traditional boxing experience, while the second, Ring Rivalries, allows you to re-create some of the greatest match ups in boxing history.

EA SPORTS also announced today that they have reduced the suggested retail price on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Fight Night Round 4 to $39.99 in North America.

Do we get more information about what the "Old School Rules" mode is all about or do we have to buy the DLC pack first and then decide whether or not it's been a waste of money...?

Still.

800 point or $9.99???  Terrible price!!  There are already great Holyfield & Hopkins' CABS out there.  So it's not worth it at all.

IS ANYONE ELSE WAITING FOR EA TO ALLOW US TO EDIT THE RATINGS FOR THE LICENSED BOXERS???  ALSO, I want new versions of Tyson and Pacquiao!!

$9.99???  I appreciate the DLC but for those of us that paid the ORIGINAL price, this seems expensive...  $39.99 for the new reduced price, it seems as though the REAL FANS of the FN Series are getting "the short-end of the stick."

KNEW I saw Liston on the intro thats why i was so confused when he wasn't in it already. But looking forward to this pack for sure.

As an owner of the last pack and a constant user of the DLC MW Toney can't wait to see Holyfield in this game. And Liston a legend. ANy other fighters though or just that 3 ?

You shouldn't be allowed to change the ratings of liscensed playeres because they are liscensed.  It's the way the game was made and you should accept it.  I don't ask to change the way Bowser's accelaration is slow in Mario Kart.

Can anybody tell me what's the point of editing the ratings of the liscensed boxers? What does that do?  And also, is it true that bringing your fighter from legacy mode and fighting with him on Xbox-Live evens out the stats to be the same as all fighters. basically, are all stats of the fighters the same on XBox Live? And if so, what's the point of legacy mode if building up your fighter to have every attribute in the 90% tile, be evened out with the fighter you are fighting?

To be truthfull I'm a little disapointed in the next DCL. No UK boxers again and the price is steep! Now by that I mean £10 (or $ whatever exchange rate ain't far off even) for 3 extra boxers, that is a quater of the orignal full game price! If the original game worked on these prices we would have had 12 boxers!

I will buy the DLC because of my love of boxing but it's very clear to me the root that EA are taking with their games. Have a loyal fan base for games and milk them for all they have got. I know for a fact some of the DLC fighters and I'm betting the new game features were partially if not fully produced prior to the release of the game so you keep them back to milk the extra cash from punters. Your probably get cheaper license fees for the boxers that way too.....very sneaky!

Hey be nice if you'd put some british talent in such as the heavyweight champion David Haye, Carl Froch etc instead of getting us to pay for some hasbeens who don't even box no more!!!

WNWoodmore said:

November 13, 2009 10:17 AM

Think there are already enough heavyweights in the game. It would be nice to see guys from smaller weight divisions. It would be nice to have four added fighters to help add on to the smaller divisions. Bernard Hopkins is a decent add-on, but it would be nice to see Floyd Mayweather, Israel Vasquez and maybe Juan Manuel Lopez added on well.

also i need fight night shoud add Wilfred Benítez he was one of boxing best defense fighters and hard to hit fighters of all time he deserve more credit and should be added into this game

DEMAND FOR A UPDATED PACQUIAO!...you got another version of Sugar Ray Leonard.

We boxing fans want a true more accurate MANNY PACQUIAO now! The pound for pound king deserves it.

Manny Pacquiao just beat Miguel Cotto in dominating fashion.  He is now considered to be one of the greatest boxers to have ever lived. He now has the new world record of holding 7 different titles in different weight classes. Since, Fight Night is a fight simulation. I want to see an update on Manny Pacquiao! He is recognized by his special talents of speed and power. How about stepping it up for all the Pacman fans out there and giving a updated version that is more reflective and true to the skills of the POUND 4 POUND KING OF THE RING. More speed more power! I think you can make him look alot better too! I think he looks more muscled and defined than the way you currently having him looking.

And while your at it, how about also having a version of Manny, when he was in the feather weights. I want to be to challenge all the other famous lower weight classes like, Morales, Barrera, etc.

my biggest question is when is the staff of fight night round 4 going to add Floyd Mayweather jr he is the best fighter of this generation and i would like him in this game. i know that you are sort of concentrating on the development of fight night round 5, but i think that you should release it and the end of the generation so it could be on both systems just like you did for round 3. so if you could, could in the next dlc please add floyd mayweather jr and if you need me for a reference dont hesitate to ask my boxing knowledge far surpasses the mass majority of america.

First of all, thank you very much for doing the update. Thank you thank you thank you for adding Hopkins! Finally!

I agree with "madboxing" an improved Manny Pacquiao needs to be added. I didn't really care for the original version to be honest. Only his face and gear looked like the real Manny. Sorry, just my honest opinion. Better footwork/footspeed and faster hands. You could make his body look little more like the real Pacquiao instead of the generic body frame that 95% of the other fighters have.

I also agree with having Pacman at a lighter weight to fight those guys. At least lightweight. His punching power has to go up as well. He's always had it, since he was at least 112 and now look at the power he demonstrated against Cotto! Maybe you could also add Freddie Roach in his corner!!

GREAT GAME but i have one hard core problem. Is there anyway to turn off that stupid counter-punch shake? Even if you counter with a jab the whole screen shakes and it sounds like a grenade just exploded on your opponent. Totally unrealistc, annoying, and arcade like. If there is no way to turn it off, EA PLEASE GIVE US tHE OPTION TO TURN OFF THE COUNTER EXPLOSIONS IN THE NEXT DLC!
